The Nebula-class Star Destroyer was one of the most advanced capital ships developed by the New Republic as part of the New Class Modernization Program. Designed after the Galactic Civil War, it combined the firepower of an Imperial Star Destroyer with greater efficiency, improved maneuverability and modern defensive systems. Although relatively few vessels were constructed, the class became one of the most respected warships of its era

Role in the New Republic
Built to defend the New Republic against the remaining Imperial forces, the Nebula-class served as a frontline capital ship and fleet command vessel. Its compact yet powerful design allowed it to challenge much larger opponents while carrying an impressive complement of starfighters and heavy weapons. Even decades later, it remains one of the most iconic warships of the Expanded Universe.
